America's Original People. Ink and Frayed Brush.
I've been looking through archival photos from the Library of Congress catalog and this image "Two Moons & Am. Horse" struck me. I knew I had to paint it. I often just dive into my work without actually knowing why I'm making it. While I was working on this, the video of the MAGA Catholic school kids surfaced and it seemed like it gave context to the painting and how far we haven't come. We need to truly process history and confront the ugliness that did and still does exist; both in the world, and in ourselves. I can't really find the right words to express this correctly, so I'll leave it at this. Thank you to all of the worlds indigenous people for existing and persevering in this fucked up world.
Started a new frayed brush piece today. Swipe for details

This year's sold/commission work. 2018 has been challenging as hell. That was in part an intentional effort on my part to push myself to grow, the other part was just reality kicking my ass. Thank you to every one of you human beings/organization that have supported me this year. Love y'all
